Welcome to the Jingle Hangout
Indiana State Museum Online
NO ONE CAN HOLI-DAY LIKE YOU HOLI-DO!

As part of the Indiana State Museum’s holiday campaign, the Lodge team dreamed up a new online extension featuring a suite of festive “bells and whistles” (sorry, we couldn’t resist). After all, now more than ever, it’s important to develop and implement new strategies to engage with audiences seeking ways to interact with brands that match their comfort levels (in person, at home, online). The new Jingle Hangout allows families to come together (at home) and enjoy learning more about the Museum and historic sites through interactive play, activities and recipes designed to maximize the merry and restore a little holiday spirit during a particularly challenging season.

We wanted to create a dynamic experience that could bring the exhibit graphics and vibe to life in this online setting. With unexpected bits of triggered animation and motion graphics sprinkled throughout the site, the Jingle Hangout is the perfect place for a little holiday hang! Visitors can send Letters to Santa, create and download special postcards for friends near and dear, and even challenge their families with some holiday trivia. As we say in the Jingle hangout, no one can holi-day, like you holi-do!

A Spoonful of Sugar, Helps the Storytelling Go Down!
To help ensure we were connecting back to the Indiana State Museum’s mission to serve as a catalyst for informal lifelong learning that connects the stories of real people, places and things, we also created special modules to educate and inspire our online visitors with historic Hoosier holiday traditions, and reinforce their relevance for today’s modern families (and may even trigger a few happy memories from holidays of yore). We even included a Jingle Hangout branded deck of holiday recipes from the Museum’s historic Tea Room to bring the magic of the holidays to the kitchen table.
THESE GINGER PEEPS ARE FOR REAL

As part of the online experience, we also created a family of Gingerbread characters based on the Indiana State Museum and its eleven historic sites. Our team came together to name these lovable characters and even gave them mini-back stories and vocations to match the unique places they call home.

Fun fact: Our gingerbread family started out as a family of holiday elves before they morphed into their sweeter s’elves.

Our Interactive Director Bryan Morgan summed up the site best when he penned this little gem. Hair metal has never sounded so festive!
