The Indiana State Museum’s new flagship GALLERY ONE represents a new approach to storytelling, and a monumental shift in design for the Museum exhibit team. This multidisciplinary, visitor-centered experience provides space for guests to share their voices and perspectives. For our marketing campaign — which included print ads, broadcast and digital radio, a digital ad suite, and social videos — we wanted to showcase the wow-factor of the new space and feature the unique interactivity happening here with the Museum’s incredible collection. Yep, it’s fun-damentally different alright! Come out and experience it for yourself.

VO: Step inside the Indiana State Museum’s brand new Gallery One and you’ll know this is something fundamentally different. Here, our collection comes to life in ways that will challenge and change the way you think about the world. That’s where the fun begins.

Inside Gallery One, ordinary objects become extraordinary artifacts . . . when you discover there’s more to every story. Take these canvas  basketball shoes. They’re not just a pair of old Chuck Taylors. These are CHUCK’s Chuck Taylors. And these buttons and boot hooks here . . . were once Abraham Lincoln’s buttons and boot hooks!  Yep, a good story changes everything.

And that’s just the beginning. Gallery One is packed with hands-on, interactive opportunities to make music, talk with artifacts, even explore an immersive gallery where you’ll experience art in a whole new light. The Indiana State Museum is using this amazingly colorful and imaginative space to match its one-of-a-kind collection of artifacts with larger themes about life in the 21st century. Here, guests are drawn to objects. For whatever reason, they connect with them. They become the one thing they go home and tell their friends and family about. It could be a journalist’s typewriter, or a basketball shoe, or even a presidental teacup. Here, that one object becomes a story.

For this engagement campaign, we wanted to capture the spirit of Gallery One, while providing new handles for audiences to engage with the Museum’s mission. Visually, we wanted to showcase historic objects in new ways, and celebrate them as the heroes they are, with the power to spark a new conversation about something that’s so much more than just an object!
