A CLOSER LOOK AT INDIANA AS A PLACE OF INVENTION AND INNOVATION.

Did you know that Conner Prairie is Indiana’s only Smithsonian affiliate? This means they have access to the Smithsonian’s permanent collection of historical artifacts and speakers. In other words, it’s a really big deal. As part of their newly launched exhibit, Places of Invention, Smithsonian National Museum of American History asked affiliate institutions to reflect on the places of invention in their own states. We helped Conner Prairie participate in this project, and the end result is a video called ‘Indiana Gas Belt: Fueling Invention’. Lodge worked with Conner Prairie to brainstorm and produce this informative portrait of a critical moment in Indiana’s history. We also wrote original music, pored over archival photos to ensure historical accuracy, and provided open captioning in order to make this video more accessible for a wider audience.

We created something we believe to be educational and entertaining, and the finished product is now on display at the National Museum of American History. If you happen to find yourself in our nation’s capital, swing in and pay a visit to the gas boom that happened right here in our own backyard! Watch all three Smithsonian Exhibit videos here.
